overviewWe love a cover with mysterious pink vines and snakes. Heir of Illusion is Madeline Taylor’s debut romantasy novel, and deserved a royal welcome to the book community.
Cover revealNot only did I have to separate the all of layers of this cover, but I had to make these two snakes move.
After “straightening” them in Photoshop (easier said than done), I used the BAO Boa plugin to move the layers along a mask path. Everything else was very straightforward!
Goodreads choice award bannersI remixed elements and found some new supporting fonts to create these static and GIF banners, featuring fun quotes from readers and author Bridgitte Knightley.
Social & eblastIt was a labor of love making sure all of the first chapter was formatted correctly and fit well on the back of the 11×17 poster featured in the social ad below (which I also laid out). Had to be careful to not show too much of the back for anyone who might feel the need to zoom in.
Social & eblastOne thing I started to learn to love about this book’s styling was its glitz and glow. It was a fun challenge to incorporate those elements in ads like this!
