overview

We love a cover with mysterious pink vines and snakes. Heir of Illusion is Madeline Taylor’s debut romantasy novel, and deserved a royal welcome to the book community.

Cover reveal

Not only did I have to separate the all of layers of this cover, but I had to make these two snakes move.

After “straightening” them in Photoshop (easier said than done), I used the BAO Boa plugin to move the layers along a mask path. Everything else was very straightforward!

Goodreads choice award banners

I remixed elements and found some new supporting fonts to create these static and GIF banners, featuring fun quotes from readers and author Bridgitte Knightley.

Social & eblast

It was a labor of love making sure all of the first chapter was formatted correctly and fit well on the back of the 11×17 poster featured in the social ad below (which I also laid out). Had to be careful to not show too much of the back for anyone who might feel the need to zoom in.

Social & eblast

One thing I started to learn to love about this book’s styling was its glitz and glow. It was a fun challenge to incorporate those elements in ads like this!
